CVE-2026-71292: Subrion CMS's admin grid sorting helper, _gridGetSorting() in includes/classes/ia.base.controller.admin.php, whitelists the `dir` (ASC/DESC) request parameter via in_array(), but falls back to the raw, attacker-supplied `sort` GET parameter whenever the requested key is not present in the per-controller $_gridSorting whitelist array: `$column = isset($this->_gridSorting[$params['sort']]) ? ... : $params['sort'];`, which is then placed into `sprintf(' ORDER BY %s`%s` %s', $tableAlias, $column, $direction)` with only backtick-quoting and no escaping. Because a backtick in the payload breaks out of the identifier context, an authenticated admin session can inject arbitrary SQL (error-based via EXTRACTVALUE, or time-based via SLEEP()) to extract database contents including administrator password hashes. Most of Subrion's ~29 admin grid controllers either define no $_gridSorting whitelist at all (e.g. pages.php, transactions.php, languages.php) or an incomplete one covering only some of their sortable columns (e.g. members.php whitelists only 1 of 7 sortable fields), making the vast majority of admin grid endpoints exploitable.
The exploitability of CVE-2026-71292 depends on two key factors: attack complexity (the level of effort required to execute an exploit) and privileges required (the access level an attacker needs).
The exploitability of CVE-2026-71292 is influenced by multiple factors. Security teams should analyze system configurations and apply appropriate countermeasures to mitigate threats.
A lower complexity and fewer privilege requirements make exploitation easier. Security teams should evaluate these aspects to determine the urgency of mitigation strategies, such as patch management and access control policies.
Attack Complexity (AC) measures the difficulty in executing an exploit. A high AC means that specific conditions must be met, making an attack more challenging, while a low AC means the vulnerability can be exploited with minimal effort.
Privileges Required (PR) determine the level of system access necessary for an attack. Vulnerabilities requiring no privileges are more accessible to attackers, whereas high privilege requirements limit exploitation to authorized users with elevated access.
Above is the CVSS Sub-score Breakdown for CVE-2026-71292, illustrating how Base, Impact, and Exploitability factors combine to form the overall severity rating. A higher sub-score typically indicates a more severe or easier-to-exploit vulnerability.
Below is the Impact Analysis for CVE-2026-71292, showing how Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability might be affected if the vulnerability is exploited. Higher values usually signal greater potential damage.
