CVE-2026-20114 Vulnerability Summary

CVE-2026-20114: A vulnerability in the Lobby Ambassador web-based management API of Cisco IOS XE Software could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to elevate their privileges and access management APIs that would not normally be available for Lobby Ambassador users. This vulnerability exists because parameters that are received by an API endpoint are not sufficiently validated. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by authenticating as a Lobby Ambassador user and sending a crafted HTTP request to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to create a new user with privilege level 1 access to the web-based management API. The attacker would then be able to access the device with these new credentials and privileges.

Assessing the Risk of CVE-2026-20114

Access Complexity Graph

The exploitability of CVE-2026-20114 depends on two key factors: attack complexity (the level of effort required to execute an exploit) and privileges required (the access level an attacker needs).

Exploitability Analysis for CVE-2026-20114

CVE-2026-20114 presents an accessible attack vector with minimal effort required. Restricting access controls and implementing security updates are critical to reducing exploitation risks.

Understanding AC and PR

A lower complexity and fewer privilege requirements make exploitation easier. Security teams should evaluate these aspects to determine the urgency of mitigation strategies, such as patch management and access control policies.

Attack Complexity (AC) measures the difficulty in executing an exploit. A high AC means that specific conditions must be met, making an attack more challenging, while a low AC means the vulnerability can be exploited with minimal effort.

Privileges Required (PR) determine the level of system access necessary for an attack. Vulnerabilities requiring no privileges are more accessible to attackers, whereas high privilege requirements limit exploitation to authorized users with elevated access.

CVSS Score Breakdown Chart

Above is the CVSS Sub-score Breakdown for CVE-2026-20114, illustrating how Base, Impact, and Exploitability factors combine to form the overall severity rating. A higher sub-score typically indicates a more severe or easier-to-exploit vulnerability.

CIA Impact Analysis

Below is the Impact Analysis for CVE-2026-20114, showing how Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability might be affected if the vulnerability is exploited. Higher values usually signal greater potential damage.

  • Confidentiality: Low
CVE-2026-20114 could lead to minor leaks of non-critical information without major privacy breaches.
  • Integrity: Low
Exploiting CVE-2026-20114 may cause minor changes to data without severely impacting its accuracy.
  • Availability: None
CVE-2026-20114 does not impact system availability.

CWE-1286

CAPEC Common Attack Pattern Enumeration and Classification

  • SQL Injection CAPEC-66 This attack exploits target software that constructs SQL statements based on user input. An attacker crafts input strings so that when the target software constructs SQL statements based on the input, the resulting SQL statement performs actions other than those the application intended. SQL Injection results from failure of the application to appropriately validate input.
  • NoSQL Injection CAPEC-676 An adversary targets software that constructs NoSQL statements based on user input or with parameters vulnerable to operator replacement in order to achieve a variety of technical impacts such as escalating privileges, bypassing authentication, and/or executing code.
